Douglas Haig Tomlinson

Douglas Haig Tomlinson, 88, a long time Prescott and Cherry, Ariz., resident, passed away May 24, 2007.

He was the beloved husband of Barbarann Tomlinson and father of Lynne Lattanzi and Barry Tomlinson of California.

Doug was born and raised in LA, Calif. A World War II Air Force veteran he served as a Control Tower operator at Luke Field. A long-term employee of Pacific, he retired in 1981 and moved to his boy hood dream town of Prescott.

A second career in advertising led him to KNOT radio, where he shared his good humor, wit and generous talent with all those he worked with for 16 years. Never having met a stranger, Doug was a wonderful addition to the community.

He was in many programs with the Prescott Fine Arts Theater, his most prominent being "On Golden Pond" where he played the role of Henry Fonda. An avid golfer, Doug thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and camaraderie found on the local golf courses. He was a past President of the LaHabra Lions, President of the Los Amigo Telephone Pioneers of America, Kiwanis Club and the Prescott Rotary Club.

A private family memorial service has already taken place. As Doug would want, think fondly of his memory, as he truly was a gentleman among gentlemen and will be dearly missed.
