Arnold J. Harrison

Arnold J. Harrison of Prescott Valley died Dec. 30, 2006. He was born April 23, 1935, and was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helga Harrison.

Arnie was a house painter while he lived in River Falls, Wis. After he moved to Arizona, he became a general contractor and owner of Homes by AJH. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. He is survived by his brother, James Harrison; sister, Shirley (Bud) Clausen; children Dawn (John) Evangelist, Denise (Dave) Bednerek, Lori (Dave) Branigan, Brad (Wendy) Harrison, and Scott (Missie) Harrison; grandchildren Brenda (Sean) Richardson, Brandon Harrison, Kristi Branigan, Coutney (Nick) Pompenberg, Cody-Lyn and Randy Harrison, Taryn and Tony Bednarek; great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Mackenzie Richardson; and special friend, Judy Werner.

A ceremony will be held at American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prescott at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5. He will be interred at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minnesota.

Mary J. McHenry

Mary J. McHenry went to be with the Lord December 30, 2006. She was born August 9, 1910 in Muscatine, Iowa, to Anna and Frank Bagnard.

Mary married Earl McHenry on October 18, 1930 in Ohio. Earl and Mary settled in Detroit, Michigan where their daughter, Mary Anne, and son, Robert Earl, were born. She became a licensed beautician in Michigan where she joined her husband in owning, and operating their first barber and beauty shop and they continued through out their lives together; to include shops in Willcox, Tempe, Glendale and Mayer, Arizona.

Her mission in life was caring for her family and others. Following the death of her husband Earl, in 1968, she returned to school and became a certified Senior Nursing Assistant. She provided professional and compassionate care for patients of Yavapai Community Hospital and the Arizona State Pioneers Home in Prescott, Arizona until her retirement in 1975.

After which, Mary most enjoyed caring for her family and friends, gourmet cooking and crocheting.

Mary was known for her strong will and free advice for all in life's matters. We love and will miss you very much.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Bamrick of SunLakes, Ariz.; son, Robert E. McHenry of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren, Edward Bamrick, Robert Bamrick, Jeff McHenry, Shawn McHenry, Megan Hurley; 14 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Mary's wishes were for any donations to be made to Heartland Hospice, 1661 E. Camelback Road, Suite 200, Phoenix, Ariz., 85016.

Lawrence Foster Aitchison

Lawrence Foster Aitchison, 89, of Prescott, passed away peacefully at his Las Fuentes home on Dec. 22, 2006. He was born in Chicago, Ill., but after his father died, Lawrence and his mother moved to Scotland to be with family. As a young man, he returned to the United States, where he met and wed Leona Bogdansky. They were married for almost 65 years.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; son, Stewart; daughter-in-law, Ann; and granddaughter, Kate. Lawrence was a quiet, private man who enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with mechanical devices. He loved airplanes and flying and introduced his son to hiking in the Grand Canyon. A memorial service will be held at the Grand Canyon later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice.

Phyllis Wentz

Phyllis Wentz, age 84, born Dec. 28, 1921, in College View, Neb., passed into the waiting arms of her beloved savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, on Dec. 20, 2006, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, while surrounded in the loving care of her family.

A celebration of Phyllis' life was held at the chapel of the Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott on Dec. 28, 2006. Pastor Michael Cook of the Prescott Seventh Day Adventist Church officiated. Final committal took place at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Franklin E. Wentz; daughters Lynn Catterall and Wendy Governile; sons Grant Haertter and John Wentz; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Paul A. Buck

Paul A. Buck, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, died on December 31, 2006, after an extended illness. Paul was born to Aston and Iris Atha Buck on November 27, 1929, in Saint Jo, Texas.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Paul made his home in Sacramento, California, where he married Ruth Irwin and had two sons, Mark and David. Paul officially retired in 1992. In 1998, Paul and his wife, Elsie, moved to Prescott Valley.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and step-son, Jay Bruning.

Survivors include his loving wife, Elsie; sons; grandsons, Christopher and Cory Buck; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Sally Buck; step-children, Michael and Mona Bruning; and step-mother, Nora Buck.

Paul enjoyed being a volunteer for the Prescott Valley Police Department. He spent many hours working at the department's firing range.

He will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, in Prescott Valley. The service will be followed by a reception at the Moose Lodge, 6501 E. 6th Street in Prescott Valley.

Frank J. Fiorucci

Frank J. Fiorucci, 79, of Phoenix, Ariz., born December 16, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away January 2, 2007.

He is survived by his son, Frank Fiorucci, Jr.; two daughters, Sandra Lockwood and Kay Ritchie; and dearest companion, Susan Tulley. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Along with his father and brothers, Frank operated Royal Auto Parts for over 25 years. He also owned Donna's Hut in Prescott along with his partner, Donna Wilson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2007, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 11300 N. 64th Street, Scottsdale.

Michael E. Kennelly

Michael E. Kennelly, 73, of Paulden, born Aug. 17, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton in Prescott, with a reception following in the Carriage House. Private cremation at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Margarita Cruz

Margarita Cruz, 56, of Dewey, born May 9, 1950, in Mexico, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in Dewey.

Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Heritage Memory Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heat Catholic Church.

William Arthur Morrison

William Arthur Morrison, 87, of Prescott, born Jan. 4, 1919, in Greenfield, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, in La Paz County.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez, Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in William's name to: American Cancer Society, Southwest Division, 2724 E. Larkin, Suite #9, Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
