Tanya Laine Austin (Carlson)

On February 22, 2007, Tanya Laine Austin (Carlson) went home to be with her Heavenly Father after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 32 years old.

Tanya was born on April 15, 1974, in Prescott, to her adoring parents, Judy and Ken Carlson. She loved music and books and spending time outdoors. The love of her life was her children, Colin, Ethan and Kelli.

She will always be remembered by family and friends as a beautiful, strong and loving person with a fighter's spirit.

She is survived by her husband Steven; her three children; her mother, Judy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Tanya's life will be 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3950 N. Valorie in Prescott Valley.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to an account at National Bank on Iron Springs Road in Prescott.

Frances Colton

Frances Colton, 87, passed away on February 23, 2007, at her home in Prescott where she resided with her nephew and his wife, Michael and Dorothy Zimmerman. Frances was born to Gordon and Ruby Clark nee France on March 14, 1918, in Goshen County, Wyoming.

Frances is survived by her brother Dale Clark of Phoenix and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Les Colton and two sisters, Helen McCutcheon of Cheyenne, Wyo., And Lola Zimmerman of Torrington, Wyo.

Frances served her country during World War II on Trinidad, New Orleans and Washington, D.C., later moving to Manhattan, New York City, before moving to Scottsdale in the 1970s.

Frances always enjoyed traveling and sharing a glass of wine and a meal with friends and family. She was a Prescott resident for three years.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.

Claire Lucille Hendrickson

Claire Lucille Hendrickson, age 101, died peacefully Friday morning, February 23, in Prescott, Arizona. Known as Kelly, she was born at home in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, September 7, 1905, the second daughter of Andrew M. and Emma F. Larson Hendrickson.

She worked as an assistant in medical practices in Chicago and New York before moving to Mesa in the 1940s. She moved to Prescott Valley in 1968 and to Prescott in 2003. An independent and resourceful woman, she enjoyed traveling in this country and abroad, made her clothes and built her house in Mesa.

She is survived by sister, June Olson of Dodgeville; two nieces and a nephew, Sara Jane Moss of Greenfield, Miss., Karen Keefe of Coon Rapids, Minn., and E. Kim Evans of Winter Park, Fla.; many grand- and great-grand-nieces and -nephews and one great-great-grand-nephew.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Leone Evans, Evelyn Mellum, Mildred Johns; and by her brothers, John, Merle and Charles Hendrickson; and by a nephew Robert Thomas.

There are no formal services. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Douglas Grant Helmer

Douglas Grant Helmer, 61, born March 27, 1945 in Fairbanks, Alaska, died February 25, 2007, in Prescott, Arizona.

A celebration of his life and time of sharing will be Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Bobby Bisjak American Legion Post 40, Highway 89 and Road 3 South, Chino Valley.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Yavapai Humane Society in his memory.

Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
