George A. Woodrow

George was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on May 3, 1927, second of five children of H. Arthur and Mildred A. Woodrow. He left us Jan. 27, 2007, after a three-month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally (Sarah) Bushy; two sisters, Roberta Alice Snare (Perry) and Nancy Maye Paugh, both of Youngstown. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Woodrow, of Sun City West, Ariz.; and sisters Mildred Woodrow of Albuquerque, N.M., and Julia (Abe) Walters of Lexington, Ky. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

George served in the U.S. Army, being stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland and Camp Irwin, Calif., working on bomb disposal. For 30 years he was employed

by Southern California Edison, beginning his career working on their boilers and progressing to 15 years in labor relations. After he retired, he was frequently asked to return for labor arbitrations. He moved to Prescott 17 years ago. George was an avid golfer and a very active member of Rotary. He firmly believed that anyone who had succeeded in life was obligated to serve and help others.

Friends may call Hampton Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Hampton Funeral Home, and private services will take place at Westminster Memorial Park Cemetery in Westminster, Calif., on Monday, Feb. 5.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NAU Foundation for the Mildred A. Woodrow Scholarship or to YRMC Hospice. The family entrusted the arrangements to Hampton Funeral Home.

Nora May Comstock Miller

Nora May Comstock Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was born May 18, 1930, and sadly left us Jan. 25, 2007. She will always be remembered as a woman who dearly loved her husband, five children, extended family, friends, and most of all, our Lord. She had an unusual wisdom about her and a great sense of humor. Nora, a native of Prescott, Arizona, was also a graduate of Saint Joseph's Academy in Prescott. She was a president of the PTA in Holbrook, Arizona, and later lived in Phoenix, Prescott, Woodward, Okla., and lastly Wickenburg, Ariz. She was highly devoted to her faith, attending daily Mass, and during her life she served the disadvantaged, the elderly, and the suffering.

Nora is dearly missed by her husband of 54 years, Mack L. Miller; and her children; daughters Leigh Ann Hanley and Karen Small; and sons Greg Miller, Steven Miller, and Paul Miller. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ben, Ashley, Kelsey, and Collin Miller, Shannon Diel; and her great-granddaughter, Kahlan Diel. She was an inspiration to all those who knew her and loved her. She will also be sorely missed by her brother, Bill Comstock; sisters Betty Steward and Helen Betzen; and her very large and extended family.

Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, (928) 778-4585.

Charles Raymond Ash

Charles Raymond Ash, age 78, born April 20, 1928 in Lafayette, Ind., died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Patrick Haven Adult Care Home. He was the son of Harold Herman Ash and Dorotha Williams Ash of West Lafayette, Ind. Charles was a retired commercial research entomologist, educated at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. He was employed by the University of California in Riverside, and later by the Bayer Corporation. He served with the U.S. Army, 2nd Infantry Division ("Indianhead" Division), medical battalion during the Korean War. He was an emeritus member of the Entomological Society of America. He was an avid archery and firearms hunter and fisherman; his articles on hunting and other activities were published in a number of magazines. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Prescott.

Charles is survived by his wife, Betty Hoffine Ash, of Prescott; daughters Robin Carol Ash of Phoenix and Kirsten Marie Archer; son-in-law, Kenneth P. Archer, M.D.; and grandson, Todd Archer, all of Prescott; a brother, James R. Ash; sister-in-law, Marianne Ash of Coatesville, Ind.; nephew, Randy Ash; and nieces, Laurie Metzger and Deanna Siple, all of Indiana.

Charles's family would like to thank Dr. John O' Connor, Dr. John Sandeen, Patrick Haven Adult Care Home, and Hospice Family Care for their loyalty and wonderful care during Charles's long illness with Parkinson's disease. The family requests that all who knew Charles remember him for his brilliant mind, many talents, outstanding sense of humor, and his loving and giving nature. Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family.

Jeffrey Scott Roderick

Jeffrey Scott Roderick, 40, of Prescott, born May 12, 1966, in Fresno, Calif., died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, in Prescott.

Funeral services will take place in Oregon.
