While I enjoyed reading the article on "Home Blogs" in your Dec. 7 Real Estate section, the article is misleading. I applaud opening the window of imagination that blogs bring to the remodeling market, but the article overlooked significant steps.
Engaging a local designer, architect, or qualified
contractor is a smart move. Doing this helps homeowners not only establish a real solution to their unique needs but also put a real budget to the project before construction.
Blogs offer ideas about possibilities. They do not help with permit drawings, pricing, scheduling, or taking responsibility for workmanship as a licensed professional does.
So readers need to know that while blogs engage the imagination, they do not engage reality.
