Yavapai County sheriff's deputies arrested a man on various charges including possession of drugs Saturday night near Bloody Basin Road and Interstate 17.
Roland Normand Prevost, 47, of Cordes Lakes is facing charges of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
A deputy saw Prevost run a stop sign at the Bloody Basin exit and almost collide with a Mayer Fire Department truck. When the deputy signaled Prevost to stop his motorcycle, he saw him throw away a small object. Once stopped, another deputy found a small baggie containing rock cocaine in the area where Prevost threw the item.
Prevost may face DUI charges after technicians look at a blood sample.
Police released Prevost from jail after he posted a $1,500 bond.
