Obituary: Allen Rosenberg
Allen Rosenberg, 73, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., formerly of Woodbury, Minn., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, unexpectedly of an acute subdural hematoma.
Poetically, he was taken to the hospital from the theater where he was preparing for his final performance at a local theater before a sold-out audience. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan and his sister, Renee.
Allen is survived by his forever loving wife, Roza; sons, Matthew and Daniel (Valerie); granddaughter, Lily; mother, Betty; brother, Gary (Sue); nephew Jeffery (Michelle) and their son Julian. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Tobe Goldberg (Arlin) and sons, Joshua and Noah, and Rachel DePorte (David) and children, Abbey and Michael; as well as many cousins and very dear friends too numerous to mention.
Allen was a lifelong resident of St. Paul, Minn., and loved to give back to the community through the arts. He loved the theater and starred in many local theatrical productions in and around the state. Loved and respected by his peers, Allen took home Minnesota's Best Actor Award from Lakeshore Players in 2002. Allen retired from federal service in 1996 after spending 37 years ensuring that our nation's lock and dam systems were adequately funded. A loyal and loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, he will be forever missed.
