Bloggers post on Harry Potter, recalls, and more
We've got some new blogs, hot off the presses!
- Reader Vinnie Sorce shares his thoughts on the latest Harry Potter novel in his blog, "Life". He also describes the oddity of an empty nest after his kids take off for a few weeks of summer fun.
"It’s hard to say what these books mean to me. As much as I’ve enjoyed the books myself over the years I’ve also enjoyed sharing them with my boys. They’ve been a pleasurable adventure to read and have created comforting family memories."
- Managing Editor Tim Wiederaenders explains why he disagrees with the Dewey-Humboldt recall in his blog, Press Pass. Here's an excerpt from that blog entry:
"OK; if you don't like what they're doing – you elected them and should work with them until election time (then vote them out). "
- Online Editor John Kamin points out a few ironies in the sordid affairs of a certain Los Angeles mayor, and also Barry Bonds' recent return to a rival stadium. He also explains why it's a good thing that Marcel Shipp decided to return to the Arizona Cardinals. Here's a quick excerpt:
"While Shipp still doesn't have the best speed, the dude's still pretty fast, and is good at reading holes. He blows up weak defenders and challenges the strong ones. Unlike other running backs with this style, Shipp can also catch the ball. He's no Marcus Allen, but the dude can catch a screen pass."
