Michael R. Eakins

Michael R. Eakins, age 47, passed away Oct. 8, 2006. He was born Oct. 24, 1958, in Wichita, Kan., to Arthur R. and Peggy L. (Tipton) Eakins.

Michael loved his family.He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Angie; his loving and caring family, which includes his daughters, Jennifer, Amber and Michaela; his son, Brad; his grandchildren, Damien, Dylan and Brennon; his parents, Art and Peggy Eakins; sister Cathy; brother Mark; nieces and nephews David, Ariel, Chrissy and Julie; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law. Mi-chael's children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was very family-oriented.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Michael enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Michael was a jeweler for 32 years and owned Michael's Fine Jewelry Store in Prescott Valley, Ariz., and it was a great achievement for him.

Please join the family for a celebration of Mike's life on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at 5 p.m., at the Sunrise Funeral Home Chapel, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.

George James Murray Sr.

George James Murray Sr., age 80, a lifelong resident of Arizona, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Mountain View Manor.

Mr. Murray was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Jerome, Ariz., to James Blaine and Della Murray.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in October of 2005, and his son, Dennis, this past July.

He is survived by sons Ron of Washington and George Jr. of Mayer; grandchildren Jennifer and Sherri Murray of Tucson, Rachel and her husband Scott Reed of Casa Grande, and Amber, Shelli and Wesley of Chandler; three great-grandchildren; sister Phyllis Breeze of Humboldt; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life and Gathering of Friends will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, from noon to 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post #78 in Humboldt.

Robbie Mae Thacker

Robbie Mae Thacker, 76 years old, of Prescott, joined our Heavenly Father on Oct. 9, 2006.

Robbie was born to Herman and Lottie Mae (Feaster) Day on March 6, 1930, in Spur, Texas.

Robbie was residing at the Arizona Pioneers' Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Mont Thacker, on Oct. 5, 2006.

Robbie moved to Pres-cott from Carlsbad, N.M., in 1963, where she raised her family as a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rob-bie is survived by three children: Sherry Valdez of Prescott, Loyd Thacker II of Prescott Valley, and Jackie Hewitt of Thatcher, Ariz.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and five sisters: Donnie Mosser of Chino Valley, Charlene Herrin of Breckenridge, Texas, Carolann Wilhelm of Kermit, Texas, Glendola Carroll of Wink, Texas, and Renee Bounds of Breckenridge, Texas.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Robbie will be laid to rest at the Arizona Pioneers' Home Cemetery with her husband, Loyd.

Frances G. Greer

Frances G. Greer, a decades-long powerhouse of the Yavapai County Republican Party, died Oct. 8, 2006. "Fran" was born on Sept. 5, 1918, in Ripley, Ohio, to Walter N. and F. Tamer Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Greer. Fran is survived by her sons, Charles Walter (Robin) of Henderson, Nev., and Dennis Walter (Claudia) of Long Beach, Calif.; a nephew, James Greer (Diane) of Spencer, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

For more than 40 years, Fran was widely respected and recognized for her participation in Arizona politics. During that time, she served as Chairman of the Yavapai County Republican Committee from 1990 through 1992, and worked on innumerable political campaigns for candidates to local, county, state and federal positions. Fran was also recognized nu-merous times by her peers for her work in the community and her political achievements, receiving manyhonors, including "Woman Of The Year" from the Arizona Republican Party in1992 and a lifetime achievement award from that Arizona Republican Party in 2004.

Fran had an iron will wrapped in a velvet touch. She was a remarkable wo-man who was adored by her family and friends and will truly be missed.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at the Hampton Funeral Home at 240 South Cortez St., in Prescott,and 10 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at United Methodist Church, 505 W.Gurley St., in Prescott. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at United Methodist Church, with Pastor Carol Mumford presiding.

Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Philip J. Maass

Philip J. Maass passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at his home in Prescott. He was born May 22, 1929, to Henry and Esther Maass in Rochester, Minn.

Phil spent most of his life in the Rochester area, where he worked as a plumber and steamfitter with the Sanitary and Himec Companies and as a construction manager for the Mayo Clinic. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Phil and Lois, his wife of 51 years, moved to Prescott in 1995.

He enjoyed boating, camping and hiking and spending time with his family and friends. His hobby was woodworking, and he was a member of the Rochester Woodcarvers Club, the Prescott Area Woodturners, the Arizona Woodturners Association, and the American Association of Woodturners. He spent many hours in his shop creating works of art from a vast variety of different woods.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; a son, Dale Maass, of Rochester, Minn.; two brothers, Ted of Minneapolis, Minn., and Paul of Rochester, Minn.; and a sister, Nancy McLeod, of Longmont, Colo.

Phil was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Peggy, in 2004; a sister, Joan Polikowsky, of Jackson, Minn.; and his parents.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Prescott. Services will also be held in Rochester, Minnesota, where his remains will be placed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, or to the donor's choice.

Charles F. Wilson

Charles F. Wilson, 86, of Chino Valley, born Aug. 29, 1920, in Waterville, Minn., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, in Chino Valley.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Chino Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Chino Valley. Services will follow at noon in the same location.

Olivia J. Arredondo, 64, of Prescott, born March 24, 1942, in Prescott, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, in Prescott.

Visitation will take placefrom 4 to 7 p.m. with a Scripture Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton streets in Prescott. Fredina R. Wood, 92, of Prescott, born Feb. 3, 1914, in Butte, Mont., died Sept. 10, 2006, at her home in Prescott.
