Christopher Thomas Scott

Christopher Thomas Scott, age 17, of Prescott, died April 30, 2006, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 5, 1988, in Riverside, Calif., the son of John Thomas and Meladie Lee (Worthington) Scott. Christopher loved riding his quad, playing paint ball, listening to music, playing computer games and time spent with his family.

Christopher is lovingly survived by his father John Scott of Prescott; his mother Meladie Scott of Huntington Beach, Calif.; his brothers John and Sean Scott of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and his sister Michelle Scott of San Diego, Calif.

A celebration of Christopher's life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.

LaVania Patterson Ward

LaVania Patterson Ward died tragically on Thursday, April 27, 2006, in Alvarado, Texas. She was born in Loving, New Mexico, on Dec. 23, 1954, to Pat and LaVerne Patterson.

LaVania graduated from Prescott High School in 1972 where she was active in FFA. She went on to nursing school and became an R.N. For 12 years, LaVania was employed for the Bureau of Prisoners in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pat Patterson; nephew T.J. Petty; grandparents, Bonnie and Ollie Yarbro and Walter and Kate Patterson.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her mother, LaVerne Patterson of Chino Valley, Ariz.; sons, Choice Ward and Kyle (Bobby) Ward, all of Seymour; brother, Greg (Linda) Patterson; sister; Denna (Tom) Petty, all of Chino Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday May 8, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave, Prescott, AZ.

Verna Joyce Campbell

Verna Joyce Campbell, 74, died April 22, 2006, in the Prescott Valley Samaritan Care Center. Verna was born March 11, 1932, in Goshen, Utah, to Dean and Maude Jasperson.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ivan Campbell; three daughters, Karen Bess, Janice Paul and Joyce Hecker; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Maxine Young and Nancy Sisneros.

Charles E. Kneeland

Charles E. Kneeland, 84, passed away March 26, 2006, in Prescott, Ariz. A longtime resident of Santa Barbara, Calif., he moved to Prescott in 2002. He served aboard the USS New Jersey with the Navy in World War II. His wife, Billie, passed away in 1992. He leaves a son, Chuck Kneeland of Soldotna, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Cliff Pollay of Wickenburg, Ariz.; granddaughter Chelsea Stone of Prescott; and three stepsons, Chris, Mike and Kip Pollay and their families.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin assisted the family with the arrangements.

Carl James Giammarinaro

Carl James Giammarinaro, 82, of Cordes Junction/Mayer, born Oct. 23, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, in Cordes Junction.

Private cremation will take place at the Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.
