Rex Earle Werring, Jr.

Rex Earle Werring, Jr. (Colonel, U.S.A.F.-Retired) was born to Rex. E. Werring, Sr. and Anne Olson Werring Nov. 17, 1921, in Minneapolis, Minn. He passed away on Feb. 7, 2006, in Chandler, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris, his son Damon and his brother James. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Danley, Jennifer Werring, Vicki McKinney, son-in-law Kent McKinney; nine grandchildren, Billie Jo, Kelly, Trudi, Richard, Robert, Joel Kent, Joel Allan, Christopher, Aimee; 10 great-grandchildren; his four nieces, Bonnie, Leslie, Kimberly, Nancy; three great-nephews and special loving friend, Lorraine.

Our rock, mentor, teacher, friend and loving father to all has joined those who have gone before him. In life, his expression of love and kindness and service to his country were demonstrated by the way in which he lived: love life, love one another, love your country, love your Creator and embrace the experiences of living. He lived his life with dignity and honor. May we each go forward and be a reflection of the man we loved.

A memorial service celebrating his life and service to his country is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Ariz.

Mary Elizabeth Skinner (Betty)

Mary Elizabeth Skinner (Betty), 89, of Prescott, died Feb. 28, 2006, of pancreatic cancer. Born May 5, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Albert E. Skinner and Florence Aiken King.

Mrs. Skinner moved to Arizona 34 years ago from Tarrytown, N.Y., with her husband, Louis Edward Skinner, who died in Prescott in 1987. In the 1930s, she graduated from both the University of Michigan and Simmons College of Social Work in Boston. She worked for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns and also for the Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

Mrs. Skinner is survived by her son, Louis who lives in Prescott; and two grandchildren, Kim and Scott Skinner, who live in Westchester County, N.Y.

Services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Thursday, March 9, at 2 p.m. Her burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, in Chestertown, Md.

Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary, Prescott, Ariz.

Barbara Kepler

Barbara Kepler, 66, of Prescott Valley, born Feb. 17, 1940, in Canestota, N.Y., died Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Prescott.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at American Legion Post #78 in Humboldt.

Mavis Joann Koktavy

Mavis Joann Koktavy, 69, of Prescott Valley, born Dec. 24, 1936, in Sleepy Eye, Minn., died Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Prescott Valley.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Germaine's Catholic Church, Prescott Valley. Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
