Charlotte Jean Rippetoe

Charlotte Jean Rippetoe, age 79, passed away May 11, 2005, in Phoenix under Hospice care. She was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Connersville, Ind., the daughter of Olin Levin Rippetoe, a Methodist minister, and Charlotte Mae Wells Rippetoe. She lived most of her adult life in Cleveland, Ohio, and then Phoenix. She moved to Prescott several years ago to be closer to family.

Jean was a kind and gentle person who retired from an active career as an interior designer working for Stouffer's Restaurants worldwide. She loved the history of the Southwest and the beauty of the Arizona desert. Before coming to Prescott she worked for Gilbert Ortega Stores in Scottsdale, and spent several years as a volunteer for the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. She especially enjoyed planting and nurturing the new seedlings.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Elizabeth Ann Shafer, May Janice Motsinger and Margaret Taylor. She is survived by her brother, John W. Rippetoe of Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews, Brad Shafer, Katie Crowell, Nancy Near, Jenny Hecker, Johnny Rippetoe, Ken Rippetoe, Mike Rippetoe, Tom Rippetoe, Regina List, Maryn Boess, Beth Olmstead, Joey Gregory, Suzanne Motsinger, Tom Motsinger; and many grand nieces and nephews.

A cactus bloom memorial bench will be placed in remembrance of her at Desert Botanical Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Jean's name to Arizona Desert Botanical Gardens, 1201 N. Galvin Pkwy., Phoenix, AZ 85008 or to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Cremation was private at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

The family was cared for by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.

Joanee S. Cordon, 70, of Chino Valley, born Nov. 24, 1934, in Humboldt, Neb., died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in Prescott.

Services will be held at a later date.

Shirley Watkins, 74, born Sept. 19, 1930, in Los Angeles, Calif., died Thursday, May 12, 2005, in Prescott.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, May 16, at Sunrise Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey.

Joseph L. Becotte, 67, of Prescott, born Dec. 27, 1937, in Boston, Mass., died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Prescott.

Private cremation will take place at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley. Burial of the cremated remains will be in June in Massachusetts.

Patricia Anne Rogers, 78, of Prescott, born Oct. 1, 1926, in Pelican Rapids, Minn., died Thursday, May 12, 2005, in Prescott.

Private cremation will take place at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley. Cremated remains will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona later this month.
