Chamber Players plans winter concert
Selections by Bach, Handel, Mendelssohn, and Copland will highlight the 8th annual winter concert of the Prescott Chamber Players Society at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church (505 W. Gurley St.).
The 40-member Chamber Society is made up of both amateur and professional musicians from other community groups such as the Central Arizona Concert Band, the Yavapai College Orchestra and Bands, the Summer Pops, the Prescott Strings and more.
The concert will feature a variety of ensemble groups including a piano trio, organ, woodwind, and string quintets and other ensembles.
Chamber music is music suited for performance in smaller concert halls and typically includes 10 or fewer instruments.
The PCPS meets monthly during the academic year in members' homes to practice, perform and select music for upcoming concerts.
The concert is free and refreshments will be available following the performance.
