Doris Rae (Vogel) Gaffney, age 84, of Scottsdale, passed away Dec. 22, 2005. She was born in Prescott, on April 16, 1921. Doris Rae was a third generation Arizonan born to Floyd and Nellie Mae Williams, descendants to the Roberts Pioneer family.

She was a graduate of Arizona Teachers College, was an elementary teacher in the Garfield and Scottsdale district, earned her masters degree in San Francisco, and implemented the first program for the visually impaired students in Scottsdale. She was a long-time supporter and volunteer at the Heard Museum.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Philip Gaffney; two sons, Brady Vogel and Randy Vogel; and daughter-in-law, Frieda Vogel. We will miss her creative and generous spirit.

Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Road, in Scottsdale, with visitation and viewing one-hour prior. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Mountain View Cemetery, 1051 Willow Creek Road, Prescott. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arizona Foundation for the Blind, 1235 E. Harmont Drive, Phoenix, AZ, 85020 or the Heard Museum, 2301 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85004.

Ula Gertrude Young Ludwick, age 99, of Chino valley, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. She was born in Holcomb, W.V., and moved to Chino Valley in 1971, from Savannah, Ga.

Of all the jobs she had she was most proud of working as a welder/riveter building minesweepers during WWII.

She was preceded in death by her husband of

66-1/2 years, Russell Howard Ludwick, and one grandchild, Robert Earl Young. Survivors include daughters, Lorena Marie Beard of Lake City, Fla., Ruth Ludwick of Chino Valley, Ruby Frame of Haymarket, Va., and Rose Ludwick of Chino Valley; a son, William Russell Ludwick of West Melbourne, Fla.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 30th, at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott.

Church services will be conducted Dec. 30th, at noon by Pastor Barbara Robinson, at the Chino Valley United Methodist Church, 735 East Road 1 South, in Chino Valley.

Graveside services will be conducted at Heritage Memorial Park, in Dewey, immediately following the service.

Ronnie Allen Sandoval, age 46, born Nov. 20, 1959, peacefully passed away Dec. 22, 2005, at his home. He was born and raised in Prescott, where he lived a wonderful life as a roofer until he retired in 1992.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Mary Deibler of Prescott; his father, Leo Sandoval of Superior, Ariz.; three brothers, Ted Rice, Robert Rice, Rocky Deibler, and one step-brother, Arnold Rice, all of Prescott; six sisters, Susan Rice, Angela Parish, Anna Rice, Roberta Dean, Sara Reyes, and Rebecca Esquivel; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; three step-children, Jason, Antoinette and Marcus.

Ron is preceded in death by his stepfather, Melvin Rice, his brother, Darryl Rice, and his only daughter, Roxanne Sandoval.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., at Heritage Memory Mortuary. A celebration of Ron’s life and memorial services will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, following to the cemetery, with a luncheon at Yavapai Prescott Tribal Gathering Center.

Robert Lawrence Edings, 50, born Jan. 21, 1955, in Prescott, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, Md. Services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., in Odenton, Md.

Phyllis Mae Garner, 83, of Prescott Valley, born Sept. 20, 1922, in Los Angeles, Calif., died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Las Fuentes in Prescott.

Private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.

Martha L. Addleman, 91, of Prescott, born Nov. 1, 1914, in Colorado, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in Prescott.
