Ivan W. Edmiston - Volney Douglas Matheny
Ivan W. Edmiston, age 80, passed away on Nov. 29, 2005, in Prescott. Edmiston was born on April 27, 1925, in York, Neb., but was raised from the age of four in Wheatland, Wyo. He attended schools in Wheatland and graduated from Wheatland High School. After graduation, he joined the Army. During WWII, he served in the elite First Special Services Force, known as “The Devil’s Brigade,” in Italy and France, under General Robert T. Frederick. After Edmiston was discharged in 1946, he became a meat cutter for Safeway Stores in Casper, Wyo., and San Jose, Calif. Ivan moved to Prescott in 1987, where he was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie and his daughter, Diann. He is survived by a son, Edward, of San Antonio, Texas.

Volney Douglas Matheny, 83, of Prescott, born Jan. 25, 1922, in Mill Valley, Calif., died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, in Prescott.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2000 Shepherds Lane, Prescott.
