Ranger sets in motion largest tree <BR>thinning project in forest history

PRESCOTT – The largest tree-thinning project in the Prescott National Forest's history reached a major milestone Thursday when Bradshaw District Ranger Ernie Del Rio signed a decision to implement it.

"The Boundary Project represents a benchmark opportunity to manage hazardous fuels and improve forest health in the Prescott area," Del Rio said as he prepared to sign the decision document. "These areas are going to be so much more resistant to catastrophic wildfire."
