<I>A will to survive</I><BR>Prescott woman and her family repeatedly "missed death" during World War II

PRESCOTT – At the beginning of World War II, the Flajnik family fled the only home they had ever known in remote Slovenia to escape the communists, who viewed them as "traitors" and threatened to burn them to death.

"It's amazing how many times we met death and missed it," said Barbara Wilson-Flajnik, who now lives in Prescott.
