HUSD starts work on November bond request

PRESCOTT VALLEY – In its quest for a November 2004 bond election, Humboldt Unified School District (HUSD) will hear Michael LaValle from Stone and Youngberg LLC update the governing board on Class B bonds, capital outlay overrides and M&O overrides specific to HUSD and Yavapai County.

At the district's board meeting on Tuesday, LaValle will present the process, the impact to local tax patrons and primary and secondary assessed valuation.

Also on the agenda, Superintendent Henry Schmitt will lead a discussion on drafting a staffing proposal for the 2004-05 school year.

Kirk Waddle, director of finance, will lead a board discussion on vendors that might exceed $32,700 and is recommending that the board award a contract for legal services to Hufford, Horstman, Mongini, Parnell and McCarthy, PC.

The board plans to vote on a request for overnight travel for the Bradshaw Mountain Middle School student council to Granite Mountain Middle School to attend a student council retreat.

The board meeting is open to the public, which may participate in the public comment portion of the meeting.

The HUSD board work session is set for 6 p.m. at the Bradshaw Mountain High School library, 6000 E. Long Look Drive, followed by the general meeting and voting session at 7 p.m.
