Bradshaw Mountain High offers youth volleyball leagues, camp in March
Volleyball League
The Bradshaw Mountain High School volleyball coaching staff invites Humboldt District students, grades 6-8, to sign up for its first-ever spring volleyball league. Designed for beginning and intermediate players who wish to learn more about volleyball and improve their skills, the season runs from March 1 through May 14.
Games are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:45-5:30 p.m. at the BMHS West gym. An activity bus will transport players to and from Bradshaw Mountain Middle School to the high school.
Coaches will form three teams, one each for 6th, 7th and 8th grades, with each team roster limited to 15 players. Staff includes: BMHS varsity coach Melissa Jackson, JV coach Charissa Reidburn and freshman coach Terri Bradshaw.
Registration was Saturday, Jan. 24, from 9-11 a.m. at BMHS West gym. Cost is $35, with proceeds going to the BMHS volleyball program. No personal checks, please. Make money orders payable to: BMHS Volleyball. Late registration possible.
For more information, call Teri Bradshaw, 759-0324.
Volleyball Camp
Melissa Jackson, Bradshaw Mountain's varsity volleyball coach, and her staff will conduct a training camp at Bradshaw Mountain East (new Robert Rd.) for Humboldt School District players in grades 4-8 during HUSD's spring break, March 15-19. Session I, for 4-6 graders, is from 8-10 a.m., Monday through Friday. Session II, for grades 7 & 8, is from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Cost is $35 for a one-week session.
The camp emphasizes fundamental skills geared toward the ages and skill levels of participants, but also includes special instruction in offense, defense and mental game strategies. Player-coach ratio is limited so players receive more personal attention.
Registration is Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9-11 a.m. at the west (main) high school campus gym. Pick up a registration form at the high school office prior to Feb. 21 and bring it with $35 cash or money order payable to: Bradshaw Mountain High School Volleyball Program. Players currently in the spring volleyball league receive a $5 discount on the camp fee. Late registration is $40. Camp officials will issue no refunds after registration.
For more information, call Jackson at 772-5025.
