Africa
one man's journey
Majestic Kilimanjaro beckoned: he responded

Wayne Sanford couldn't get the song "Africa" out of his head while he was climbing the highest peak in Africa in July – the majestic 29,340-foot Mount Kilimanjaro on the border of Tanzania and Kenya.

"I bless the rains down in Africa," he sang in his head as he climbed higher and higher over the six-day trek.

Back in his college days, he hiked up Mexico's tallest peak, the 18,565-foot Citlaltépetl (also known by its Spanish name of El Pico D'Orizaba), and he was sick all the way up, literally crawling up the final ascent.
