High school students present 'Life Without Art,' songs
Local resident Ben Valentine saw the Tri-City Mayor's Breakfast for the Arts in March, in which Prescott, Humboldt and Chino Valley school districts' students performed and showcased their art.
He decided to help the cause, and is helping put together a similar show for the public that will raise money for the districts' art programs.
Choirs, bands and dramatic groups from all three districts will perform Saturday, and art students will display their art in the performance hall's lobby.
A dramatic group will perform a short play, "Life Without Art," and the choirs from Prescott, Bradshaw Mountain and Chino Valley high schools will perform a medley of patriotic songs to finish off the performance.
General admission tickets cost $10, and VIP seating costs $25. Proceeds benefit the schools' art programs.
Information and tickets: Yavapai College Community Events office (776-2033), 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Also, all three high schools and their music departments are selling the tickets.
