Dewey author's book offers budgeting tips
Want a quick and easy way to balance your household budget?
Dewey author Dianna Barra thinks she can help.
Barra has written a book, "Quick and Easy Budget Book: A Practical Workbook for Balancing Your Household Budget," which she will be talking about, demonstrating strategies from, and signing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan 16, at Barnes and Noble Bookstore in the Prescott Gateway.
"Having a balanced budget and good financial control in these difficult economic times is important for financial Freedom," Barra said.
While a math teacher at Utah Valley Community College in Orem, Utah, Barra found, while searching for a good budget book for her students, that only two types were available: a blank record book with lines to fill in and others that were so detailed and cumbersome that even Barra became frustrated trying to negotiate it.
"I decided to write one that was quick to learn and easy to use by everyone," she said.
"Quick and Easy Budget Book" is compact, easy to learn, easy to use and takes very little time to do, Barra says.
A valuable tool and geared toward high school and up, it retails for $15.98. Published by Idea Designs-Instructional Designs. ISBN: 0-9711370-4-8.
