PRESCOTT – Authorities say the body that motorists found on Wednesday off Highway 89 is that of 60-year-old Prescott resident Arleen Ruth Cilione, who was has been missing since September.
Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) spokeswoman Sharon Wachter said that, at around 11 a.m. on Jan. 8, detectives responded to a call from motorists who found a dead woman in a remote wooded area 10 miles southwest of Prescott.
"Our detectives went out there and recovered thebody," she said. "Fingerprints revealed her identity."
People last saw Cilione alive at around 9:15 p.m. on Sept. 19, when she left Donna's Hut, a local bar in the 400 block of Goodwin Street in Prescott. Cilione's family reported her missing after she failed to return home, Wachter said.
The YCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau, with help from Prescott Police Department detectives, is handling this case as a homicide.
Wachter said that authorities still are working on identifying the cause of Cilione's death.
