CORDES JUNCTION – A five-month investigation led to the arrests of two people this past Friday in Cordes Junction who now face multiple drug-related charges.

According to a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office report, at around 7 p.m., deputies carried out a search warrant for drugs in the 20500 block of Sierra Drive in Cordes Lakes. The YCSO Special Crimes Unit helped a Mayer deputy with the investigation, which also included a number of reports from concerned citizens about suspicious activity at the residence.

Guzman's 28-year-old son Santiago "JJ" Guzman, who was not at the residence at the time of the search, also will face multiple charges once authorities locate him, including possession of methamphetamine for sale and possession of a firearm during a drug offense.

Man faces felony charges after traffic stop

Johnson is in custody on multiple charges including a probation violation warrant, possession/transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession/transportation of marijuana for sale, prohibited possession of a firearm and possession of an altered/defaced weapon.

According to a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office report, at around 5 p.m., YCSO Mayer Deputy Douglas Brown stopped the suspect on Highway 69 in Humboldt. Deputy Brown reportedly knew that Johnson had an active felony arrest warrant for a probation violation.

Deputies seized Johnson's 1990 mini-van and $100 in cash.
