Pair facing drug charges; YCSO seeks woman's son
CORDES JUNCTION – A five-month investigation led to the arrests of two people this past Friday in Cordes Junction who now face multiple drug-related charges.
Emma Guzman, 65, is in custody on possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a firearm during a drug offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prescription-only drugs.
Lisa J. Mauler, 25, faces possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
According to a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office report, at around 7 p.m., deputies carried out a search warrant for drugs in the 20500 block of Sierra Drive in Cordes Lakes. The YCSO Special Crimes Unit helped a Mayer deputy with the investigation, which also included a number of reports from concerned citizens about suspicious activity at the residence.
Deputies seized a total of four firearms and $725 in cash, which authorities believe came from illegal drug sales.
Guzman's 28-year-old son Santiago "JJ" Guzman, who was not at the residence at the time of the search, also will face multiple charges once authorities locate him, including possession of methamphetamine for sale and possession of a firearm during a drug offense.

Man faces felony charges after traffic stop
HUMBOLDT – A 33-year-old Poland Junction man, Richard Roy Johnson Jr., faces multiple felony charges in connection with a Sunday traffic stop during which a deputy allegedly found various drugs and firearms.
Johnson is in custody on multiple charges including a probation violation warrant, possession/transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession/transportation of marijuana for sale, prohibited possession of a firearm and possession of an altered/defaced weapon.
According to a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office report, at around 5 p.m., YCSO Mayer Deputy Douglas Brown stopped the suspect on Highway 69 in Humboldt. Deputy Brown reportedly knew that Johnson had an active felony arrest warrant for a probation violation.
Deputy Brown reportedly arrested Johnson without incident. In the suspect's vehicle, he allegedly found about 30 grams of methamphetamine and approximately a quarter-pound of marijuana.
Meanwhile, the YCSO Special Crimes Unit obtained a search warrant for Johnson's residence.
During the search, deputies allegedly found an additional usable quantity of methamphetamine along with 11 firearms, a number of drug paraphernalia items and evidence of drug sales activity.
Deputies seized Johnson's 1990 mini-van and $100 in cash.
