Groups plan documentation of old quilts
Do you have an old quilt that you would like to know more about?
The Heritage Quilt Study Group, under the auspices of the Sharlot Hall Museum, will be documenting Yavapai County and Prescott area quilts on April 16, 18 and 20 in the museum's exhibit hall.
The study group said quilts and quilters are a special part of area history, and feel it is important that this heritage be preserved.
The Heritage Quilt Study Group will file its quilt information in the archives at the Sharlot Hall Museum and the Arizona Historical Society.
Anyone who has a quilt made before 1940 may make an appointment for their quilt to be photographed and analyzed.
The group will gather information about the history of the quilts, but will not appraise any quilts.
Register for an appointment by calling the museum at 445-3122.
