The Constitution, Article 4, section 4: "The United States shall guarantee to every State a Republican form of government and protect each against invasion."
"Politically correct" government policies have led to invasion by millions of illegal foreigners.
President Bush and some members of Congress deceive American citizens by hiding the illegal immigrant amnesty issue in other bills. The president is out of line promoting HR 1885, which extends the section of the Immigration and Nationality Act that lets illegal immigrants stay in the U.S. without State Department background checks in their home country.
It places responsibility with the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Bush's amnesty program legalizes millions of illegal, undocumented immigrants. It rewards lawbreakers and lets criminals and possible terrorists stay in the country. Rep Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) of the Immigration Reform Caucus is leading the fight against the Bush amnesty.
The INS is a totally ineffectual bureaucracy. It needs reform and we should fire Commissioner James Ziglar! He opposes reorganization of the INS and Security Director Tom Ridge's effort to create a Border Security Agency with the INS, Customs, and other agencies. He also supports amnesty and continuing to let illegal aliens become legal residents by paying a $1,000 fee.
The Bush Administration has "preached" security issues after the Sept. 11 attack on America. However, Bush will present his amnesty program for millions of illegals to President Fox on his upcoming visit to Mexico. Bush wants to play the amnesty game to win Hispanic votes in 2002 and 2004.
Who should have a priority on protecting our culture, U.S. citizens or illegal foreigners? Why should English-speaking citizens have to punch in a number at an ATM machine, on the phone or to contact their credit card company or any service to communicate in English? Like millions of citizens, I am tired of "politically correct" thinkers worrying that we are offending someone of a different culture. Those who promote a multicultural America are diluting our sovereignty, heritage, history and national identity.
The "politically correct" promote a change from our national language. If immigrants want to immerse themselves in our society, they should learn English and adapt to American culture. English is our national language, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian or any other language. We need to stop being hyphenated-Americans.
If the Stars and Stripes, Pledge of Allegiance, "In God We Trust," and the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms offend some inhabitants of the U.S., they should move to another part of the universe!
In America, they have a Constitutional right unlike many nations, the right to leave, and millions of Americans will fight to protect your right.
"In God we trust" is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. God-believing Americans who founded this nation adopted it. God save our republic!
