FLAGSTAFF – The Perseids are falling! The Perseids are falling!
At least for a few more days.
Although the Perseid meteor shower peaked at about 60 meteors per hour earlier this month, local residents may still be able to see individual meteors through the end of this week.
While its numbers have dropped since its "parent" comet, Swift-Tuttle, passed by in 1992, the annual shower can still elicit plenty of "oos" and "ahs" from the celestial-viewing crowd, as it can offer unusually fantastic "fireballs" and tails that stretch across the sky.
