Travis Arden Williams Jr

Travis Arden Williams Jr., 41, of Wilhoit, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Prescott.

He was born April 28, 1960, in Prescott, to Travis Arden and Dian Kathlene (Fortner) Williams.

Mr. Williams lived in the Prescott area for the past 35 years. He worked as a plumber in the construction trade, and at the time of his death worked at Fortner and Gifford in Prescott.

He served in the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed golf, the outdoors and his family.

Surviving are his parents, of Wilhoit; daughter, Tessa of Nebraska; sister, Crystal Walker of Mesa; brothers, Glen of Prescott and Michael of Prescott Valley; and grandparents, Bob Fortner Sr. and Gladys Dustin, both of Prescott.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Odd Fellow Cemetery on South Virginia Street in Prescott.

Hampton Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.

Brownie Jean McElmoy

Brownie Jean McElmoyl, 62, of Prescott, died Monday, July 9, 2001, in Duncan, Okla.

She was born Sept. 4, 1934, in Shreveport, La., to Steven A. and Joyce (Powell) Alford.

Mrs. McElmoyl attended Lake Charles High School and received a bachelor's degree from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. After college she moved to Phoenix and taught physical education at Carl Hayden High School. She also worked as a tennis professional at John Gardiner's Tennis Ranch in Scottsdale in the 1970s.

Mrs. McElmoyl moved to Prescott in the early 1990s and worked as human resources coordinator for the Yavapai Gaming Agency. Her family and friends will remember her as a person of compassion who had a unique sense of humor.

Surviving are her daughter, Courtney of Duncan, Okla.; son, Scott of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Jane Sims of Lynchburg, Va. and Joyce Vorman of Stockbridge, Mass.; and one grandchild.

There were no services. At Mrs. McElmoyl's request, her ashes will be spread over her mother's grave in Amite, La.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Yavapai Humane Society, P.O. Box 12, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Don Grantham Funeral Home, Inc., of Duncan, Okla., helped the family with arrangements.

G. Pauline Sandholdt

G. Pauline Sandholdt, 83, of Wilhoit, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Las Fuentes Care Center, Prescott.

She was born April 14, 1918, in Pomona, Calif., to George C. and Isabel Corey (Buse) Sandholdt.

Miss Sandholdt graduated from Northern Arizona Teacher's College (now NAU) with a bachelor's degree in education, and received a master's from Arizona State University. She also did post-graduate work at the University of Arizona.

She taught grade school, English, Spanish and homebound students in Kirkland, Crown King, Cottonwood and Yuma.

Miss Sandholdt volunteered as the secretary for Easter Seals and the Crippled Children Clinic in Yuma. She was a charter member of the Quartzsite Historical Society, member of the Yuma Historical Society and a member and former board of director of the Arizona State Historical Society.

Surviving is her sister, Charlotte Moore of Salome.

Cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory, Prescott Valley. Inurnment will be in the family plot at Quartzsite.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.
