Jean S. Benson

Jean S. Benson, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at her home in Prescott.

She was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., to Luigi and Mary (Mecchi) Luciani.

Mrs. Benson owned a lingerie and dress shop in Chicago and also worked for many years at Saks Fifth Avenue. She enjoyed dancing to the Lawrence Welk Orchestra with her husband.

Surviving are her son, John of Prescott; sisters, Ella Slattery and Mary Stiener; and three grandchildren.

Her husband, Herbert, preceded her in death in 1995.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Gamm, CMF, officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Hospice Restricted Fund, P.O. Box 26565, Prescott Valley, AZ 86312.

Lois Wood

Lois Wood, 88, of Conroe, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Conroe.

She was born Aug. 26, 1912, in Chicago, Ill., to Ralph O. and Ethel Smith.

Mrs. Wood had lived in Prescott for 20 years before moving to Conroe late last year. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Catholic Social Service.

Surviving are her daughter, Randi Waisanen of Conroe; brother, Howard Smith of Chino Valley; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be private family memorial services.

The family suggests memorial donations to Catholic Social Service of Yavapai, 116 N. Summit Ave., Prescott, AZ 86301.

Conroe Funeral Directors helped the family with arrangements.

Elizabeth Mary Fields

Elizabeth Mary Fields, 82, of Prescott Country Club in Dewey, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Prescott.

She was born July 1, 1918, in Berkeley, Calif., to Thomas and Lydia (Rogers) Springer.

Mrs. Fields was a retired insurance agency office manager.

Survivors include her son, Robert of Oakland, Calif., and two brothers and a sister living in California.

Her husband John preceded her in death in 1986.

There will be private services.

The obituary for Louise H. Hunt, 86, of Prescott, who died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Prescott, should have said that the family requests memorial contributions to Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Hospice Restricted Fund, P.O. Box 26565, Prescott Valley, AZ 86312.
