Howard A. Cottle
Howard A. Cottle, 79, of Prescott, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Prescott.
He was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Forest Hill, W. Va., to George and Faye (Allen) Cottle.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite; sons, J. Heber Dews of Birmingham, Ala., William P. Dews of Bossier City, La., Kenneth of Atlanta, Ga., Raymond of Longview, Texas, and Robert of Cupertino, Calif.; sister, Eloise Foster of Peterstown, W. Va.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Aztlan Masonic Lodge, 1028 Willow Creek Road. Officiating will be Lay Minister Larry Christenson, and members of Masonic Lodge – Aztlan #1 and Order of Eastern Star.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Christian Church, 1230 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.
Sunrise Funeral Home and Crematory helped the family with arrangements.
Diana Jean Huff
Diana Jean Huff, 64, of Dewey, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Dewey.
She was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Karl and Ruth (Reeves) Teachout.
Mrs. Huff married her husband, Wayne, on Aug. 20, 1955, in Lynwood, Calif. She worked as office manager of JD White Trucking Co. in Signal Hill, Calif., for 10 years, retiring in 1990.
She enjoyed quilting, crafts and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne; daughters, Debbie Lektorich of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Darryl Weslanski of Whittier, Calif.; son, Dave of Whittier, Calif.; sister, Pat Gerke of Temecula, Calif.; brother, Jack Teachout of Yucaipa, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services are at 1 p.m. today at Sunrise Funeral Home. Dr. Jack Teachout will officiate.
Mary Catherine Simmons
Mary Catherine Simmons, 86, of Prescott, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Prescott.
She was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Winnipeg, Canada, to Arthur and Georgana May Hodgins.
Mrs. Simmons enjoyed ranching and was an excellent watercolorist and teacher.
Survivors include her husband of 12 years, Richard W.; sons, Michael Forester of Los Angeles, Calif., and John Forester of Westward, Ga.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Meris Pittman, preceded her in death.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel, 131 Grove Ave.
The family suggests prayers in lieu of flowers.
Billy F. Williams
Billy F. Williams, 65, of Chino Valley, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 4, 1935, in Austin, Texas, to Lewis F. and Inell Williams.
Mr. Williams moved to Phoenix in 1941 from Hutchinson, Kan., where he worked as a warehouse manager for A.J. Bayless. He was a member of the Community of Christ, Bill Williams Mountain Men and a former posse member in Phoenix. He enjoyed horses and trail riding.
Survivors include his son, Guyman of Queen Creek; sisters, Juanita Watts of Sparks, Nev., and Dorothy Chapman of Cathedral City, Calif.; brothers, Tom of North Las Vegas, Nev., Lewis of Peoria, and Robert of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chino Valley Cemetery, Road 2 South.
Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.
