Ralph E. Barkhimer
Ralph E. Barkhimer, 63, of Prescott, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott.
He was born April 4, 1937, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Earl and Josephine J. (Tyler) Barkhimer.
Mr. Barkhimer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked many years for Mo Kuhne's Heating and Plumbing.
He was a Past Master of Aztlan Masonic Lodge #1 and a member of the Phoenix Scottish Rite Bodies. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Denny's. He was known by his family as a hard-working man who was a joy to be around.
Survivors include his daughters, Kathleen of Rim Rock and Cara Ford of Prescott; stepchildren, Wanda Hofferber and Melvin Aston, both of Humboldt, Cindy Aston and Billy Aston, both of Mesa, and Jesse Aston of Stafford; brothers, Vernon of Florida and Raymond of Texas; sister, Violet Bradley of Indiana; and 20 grandchildren.
His son, Teddy, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez at Carleton, Prescott.
A time of remembrance will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Masonic Funeral Ritual Team of Aztlan Lodge officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Honor Detail of American Legion Post #6.
Cremation was private at Bradshaw Crematory with inurnment at Redwood Memorial Gardens, Dewey.
Mamie Martin, 88, a Prescott resident since 1971, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in Prescott.
She was born May 24, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Eugene Gennette and Aquilina Posito.
Mrs. Martin was an early pioneer in the retail natural/health foods in southern California and a licensed beauty operator. Before moving to Prescott, she lived for many years in Yucaipa, Calif., where she was a member of the Science of the Mind Church and numerous study groups.
Survivors include her brother-in-law and caregiver, Eugene Griffin of Prescott; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Earl Grogan and Eugene Martin, and daughter, Donna Long.
Mrs. Martin's cremated remains will be interred in San Diego, Calif.

Charles C. Mick
Charles C. Mick, 91, of Prescott, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in Prescott.
He was born July 18, 1909, in Raquette Lake, N.Y., to Ruben and Julia (Bush) Mick.
Mr. Mick had lived in Prescott for 25 years, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His family knew him as a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Survivors include his daughters, Judy Politi of Prescott and Roberta of Montrose, N.Y.; brother, Ruben of Schroon Lake, N.Y.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be private services at a later date.
