Arnold W. Gauss
Arnold W. Gauss, 88, of Prescott, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Las Fuentes Village Resort, Prescott.
He was born March 20, 1912, in Ash Township, Monroe County, Mich., to William and Anna (Kamin) Gauss.
Mr. Gauss married Hughena C. Addison in 1935, and she preceded him in death in 1955. He married Myra M. Griffin in 1956, and she died in 1987. In 1989 he married Clara (Edwards) Tanner, and they moved to Arizona, and then to Prescott, a few years ago.
He worked for 39 years as a supervisor at Clark Equipment Company in Battle Creek, Mich., retiring in 1974. He also had worked as a licensed electrician.
Mr. Gauss had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Battle Creek since 1935 and was a former trustee. He was a founding member of the Battle Creek Bowhunters Club, and a former Boy Scout troop scoutmaster.
He enjoyed fishing and working with his hands, which included making his own bows and arrows for hunting and building a cabin cruiser that he used on Lake Michigan.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; daughter, Anna Shive of Augusta, Mich.; son, Hugh of Battle Creek, Mich.; stepson, Roger Tanner of Prescott; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and nine step-great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, Mich.
Farley-Estes and Dowdle Funeral Home in Battle Creek helped the family with arrangements.
Alice M. Riedelbach
Alice M. Riedelbach, 87, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at her home in Yavapai Hills.
She was born March 16, 1913, in Shawano, Wis., to Robert and Zilda (Springborn) Kronke.
Mrs. Riedelbach married Clarence Riedelbach Sept. 26, 1936. They moved to Arizona from Brookfield, Wis., in 1977.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Prescott from 1977 to 1992, and Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prescott Valley since 1992. She enjoyed painting.
Surviving are her son, Richard of Brookfield, Wis.; sister, Elaine Kronke; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Clarence, preceded her in death.
Burial was Oct. 30 at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wis.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Stephen Hein officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3300 N. Navajo Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.

Carl William Roberts
Carl William Roberts, 78, of Prescott, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tucson.
He was born April 30, 1922, in Minersville, Utah, to Carl and Jennie (Johnson) Roberts.
Mr. Roberts served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an assistant ambulance driver for the domiciliary at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott. His family knew him as a loving father and friend.
Surviving are his daughters, Linda Pierce of Oregon and Marsha Allgood of South Carolina; brothers, Dale and Duane; sisters, Ruth and Norma; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Ruth Street. Services will follow at the church at 1 p.m. Friday.
