Thomas William Alspaugh Jr.

Thomas William Alspaugh Jr., 66, of Prescott Valley, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in Prescott.

He was born April 27, 1934, in Bandon, Ore., to Thomas William and Charmain (Knight) Alspaugh Sr.

Mr. Alspaugh served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked for American Telephone & Telegraph for more than 20 years, and was a security officer when he retired. He also managed a hotel.

He was a professional tennis instructor who founded the Phoenix Rackets tennis club. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and belonged to Post #541 in Prescott.

Mr. Alspaugh enjoyed exercising, especially swimming, tennis and racquetball, and country music. He was proudest of his family.

Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Deanie; sons, Tony and Vaughn Reynolds, both of Phoenix, Steve Reynolds of Prescott, Carey Reynolds of Chino Valley, Mitch Reynolds of Prescott Valley, Adam Reynolds of Flagstaff and Kirk Alspaugh of Montana; daughters, Cathy Reynolds of Glendale, Susan Jerumbo and Francine Reynolds, both of Flagstaff, and Noel Engles of Prescott Valley; brother, Stanley of Phoenix; mother, Charmain Alspaugh of Phoenix; 35 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix. Father Carl Carlozzi of All Saints Episcopal Church in Phoenix will officiate.

Visitation will be at the mortuary two hours before the service. Burial and military honors will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5377, Phoenix, AZ 85010.

Mary Evelyn "Evie" Doverspike, 82, of Dewey, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Prescott Valley.

She was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Columbia, S.C., to William and Ida (Vertifeuille) Martin.

Mrs. Doverspike married George Doverspike on Oct. 22, 1981, in Seattle, Wash. They moved to Arizona from Wisconsin 10 years ago.

She worked as a registered nurse for many years, and enjoyed playing golf and bridge, skiing and reading. She was a member of Prescott Country Club in Dewey and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mayer.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Dr. John Wagner of Seattle, Robert Wagner of Neenah, Wis., and Richard Wagner of Phoenix; daughter, Kim Wagner of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, William Martin of St. George, Utah, and Richard and Robert Martin, both of Sun City; and seven grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mayer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Father Kevin Diaz officiating.

Mary Evelyn "Evie" Doverspike, 82, of Dewey, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Prescott Valley.

Erica Lopez

Erica Lopez, 19, of Prescott Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Prescott Valley.

She was born May 14, 1981, in Belen, N.M., to Jesse and Judy (McCoy) Lopez.

Miss Lopez worked as a caregiver in a nursing home in Belen before moving to Prescott Valley. She enjoyed music, movies, dancing and karaoke.

Surviving are her mother, of Los Lunas, N.M.; father and stepmother, Jesse and Karen Lopez of Prescott Valley; brother, Jesse Jr. of Louisiana; and grandparents, Mrs. McCoy and Pauline Luceras, both of Grants, N.M.

Her brother, Juan, preceded her in death in 1994.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sunrise Funeral Home.
