Prescott pipeline flunks compaction tests

PRESCOTT –As 2001 began, the City of Prescott was heralding the new 36-inch pipeline from Chino Valley as a positive addition to the city's water system: No more would hot summer days put the community in the danger zone on water consumption.

Indeed, with the addition of the new 36-inch water pipeline, the city increased its daily capacity for transporting water from its well field in Chino Valley from about 10 million gallons per day to 14 million gallons per day – well above what Prescott residents use during high-demand summer days.
