Josephine "Jo" Jones
Josephine "Jo" Jones, 75, a lifelong resident of Yavapai County, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at her home in Prescott.
She was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Clarkdale, to Franklin and Blanche (Jolly) Lewis.
Mrs. Jones worked as a bookkeeper for the family lumber-yard, Prescott Lumber, for many years. When it became Foxworth, she continued working there until she retired.
She was an adviser to Rainbow Girls when her daughters were members, volunteered as an AARP senior tax adviser, was a mentor at Miller Valley and Washington schools and was a volunteer with Yavapai County's CASA program. Prior to her last illness, Mrs. Jones attended an exercise class at Prescott Racquet Club each morning.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Allen; daughters, Mary Lou Zufelt of Flagstaff and JoAnn Froshaug of Castlerock, Colo.; brothers, Jim Lewis of Prescott, Ron Lewis of Phoenix, Don and William Lewis, both of Blythe, Calif., and Jack Lewis of Tucson; sisters, Frances Sutton and Dorothy Thum, both of Phoenix, Velma Rezzonico of Chandler and June Pedone of Las Vegas, Nev.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez at Carleton in Prescott.
A celebration of Mrs. Jones' life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley, Prescott. The committal service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Memorial Gardens on Fain Road in Dewey.

Mira Barbara Kennedy
Mira Barbara Kennedy, 93, of Prescott, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in Prescott.
She was born Sept. 28, 1907, in Pesotum, Ill., to Theodore and Bessie (Collins) Voelkel.
Mrs. Kennedy graduated from the University of Illinois. She was a social worker and teacher, and retired from the Chicago chapter of the American Red Cross.
Survivors include her sisters, Clarice Wood of Prescott and Betty Raskin of Prospect, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her husband, Logan C. Kennedy, preceded her in death.
There will be no funeral in Arizona.

Edna Arlene Poland
Edna Arlene Poland, 86, of Yarnell, died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Yarnell.
She was born Sept. 29, 1914, in Syracuse, N.Y., to George C. and Edna L. (Poague) Hitchcock.
Mrs. Poland moved to Prescott from Indiana in 1947, and to Phoenix in 1962. She retired from Fry's Food Stores in 1979.
Surviving are her daughter, Paula Mayer of Yarnell; sons, Philip, Jeffrey, and Thad, all of California; a sister in Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, George, and sons, Michael and Patrick, preceded her in death.
There will be no services. Cremation was at Frey Funeral Home, Wickenburg.
