Mathilda "Maggie" Walker
Mathilda "Maggie" Walker, 74, of Prescott, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in Prescott.
She was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Max and Rebecca Maggid.
Mrs. Walker married her husband, Gordon, on Dec. 17, 1948. She worked as an accountant at Riker's Laboratory. She moved to Prescott from Canoga Park, Calif., in 1984.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a longtime volunteer for Yavapai Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Mrs. Walker enjoyed knitting afghans and collecting Chinese arts and crafts. Her family knew her as one who was devoted to them and who had an outgoing personality.
Surviving are her husband; sons, James of Visalia, Calif. and Joseph of Prescott; daughter, Eileen Smith of Victorville, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
A Christian prayer service was at 10 a.m. today at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Chapel. Cremation was at Bradshaw Crematory, Prescott Valley.
