Prescott Swim Team members shine at Arizona State Meet

The Prescott Swim Team enjoyed an outstanding showing at the recent Arizona State Swim Meet.

Seven local swimmers qualified for the meet.

Travis Brennion, 16, captured the State championship in the 400 IM event. He also took seventh in the 100 backstroke, sixth in the 200 backstroke, sixth in the 200 IM, ninth in the 200 backstroke and 14th in the 200 butterfly.

Alissa Ricard, 14, swam to personal best times in all of her events while Amy Rodin, 14, placed among the top 18 in the State with a personal best time in the 200 IM and the 50 free.

Corbin Joshu, 12, captured personal bests in several events while taking fourth overall in the 200 breaststroke and fifth in State in the 100 breaststroke.

Amanda Schliecher, 11, swam to personal bests in several events, placing in the top 16 in the State.

Richard Schliecher, 10, won a State championship and received National Reportable Times in the 50 and 100 backstroke. Richard also placed fifth and received a Far Western Time in the 100 IM, fourth with a Far Western Time in the 50 Free, fourth with a Far Western Time in the 100 Free, and third with a Far Western Time in the 200 IM.

Jeannie Wood, 9, captured a personal best in the 200 IM to place in the top 16 in her age group.
