CINCO DE MAYO COURTHOUSE FIESTA … The City of Prescott Parks and Recreation Department presents its Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the Courthouse Plaza on Saturday, May 6. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. and include a salsa contest, kids' crafts and activities, community booths, food booths and entertainment by the Rojas Family Mariachi Band, Prescott Valley Folkloric Dance Company, Gene Ulibarri Band and Corozon de Peoria Ballet Folklorico. A street dance featuring Grupo Caliente begins at 7 p.m. Come join us for a day of fun!

CINCO DE MAYO FIESTA ON THE LIBRARY LAWN … The Friends of the Library invite you to the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta on the library lawn Saturday, May 6. Everyone is welcome. It's free and the crowd is small to accommodate the young and the elderly alike. Festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. on Prescott Public Library's lawn and run until 4 p.m. The library's lawn is handicapped accessible. If you are at the Courthouse Fiesta be sure to walk a short block up to the library at 215 E. Goodwin and join us! At 12:30 p.m. the library kicks off with the Rojas Family Mariachi Band, followed by Nita Norman's bilingual storytellings at 1:45 p.m., and at 3 p.m., Corozon de Peoria Ballet Folklorico will perform. Come celebrate part of our diverse southwestern heritage at Prescott Public Library.

TRAVEL TUESDAY PRESENTS THE AMAZON … All are welcome to join a Travel Tuesday adventure on the Amazon River with Cecil Stewart as your guide. Join the views in Prescott Public Library's third floor meeting room at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Open seating. The Prescott Public Library is located at 215 E. Goodwin in downtown Prescott.

SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP FOR KIDS WITH DISABILITIES … Prescott Parks, Recreation and Library Department invites children with special needs ages 6 to 21 to join the Summer Adventure Camp. There will be swimming, roller skating, arts and crafts, field trips, bowling, music and games. The camp will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 12 through Aug. 10. Registration fee is $10, plus $3 per child per day. Register at the Prescott Activity Center, 824 E. Gurley, or call Becky at 445-5291 for additional information.

.RECREATION LEADERS SOUGHT … Prescott Parks and Recreation is looking for leaders for the Youth Summer Camp held June 12 through July 14 and July 17 through Aug. 17. We are looking for people with experience with kayaking, fishing, hiking, rock climbing and archery. Pay is $7 to $9 per hour. Pick up an application in the Recreation programming office, 824 E.
