PRESCOTT – Cowpokes 12 and younger are shining their boots and rustling up patriotic gear for the 59th annual Prescott Kiwanis Kiddie Parade on Friday.
Judging begins at 8:45 a.m. at Goodwin and Cortez streets. Participants will start marching at 9:30 a.m., traveling north on Cortez to Gurley then west on Gurley, to Montezuma.
The 26 prize categories include those for the Most Original Float, Most Patriotic Walking Girl, Best Dressed Cowboy, Best Decorated Bicycle Girl and Boy, Best Decorated Group, Toughest Looking Cowboy, Best Decorated Pet and Best Decorated Dog/Owner Combo.
After the parade, marchers will assemble on the north steps of the courthouse. The club will award a ribbon and cash award to the winner in each category. All participants will receive an ice cream treat.
Also, this year's winners may get a chance to ride on the Kiwanis Kiddie Parade Float in the Prescott Frontier Days Parade the next day, on Saturday.
No advance registration is necessary.
