Hockey teams net titles at Roller Rave
PRESCOTT – Tournament time left Roller Rave hopping over the weekend at the Tri-City Hockey League Spring Championships.
In the Bantam Division (16-years-old and under) the Waterboys slipped past The Odd 5-4 behind two goals apiece from Travis Ducharme and Justin Ducharme. Alex Kirkland added one more score and two assists while Alex Brownlee paced the winning effort in goal.
Nick Koressel and Marshall Hiller scored two goals each for The Odd which outshot the Waterboys 27-20 but came up short.
In the Pee Wee Division (12-U) the Barracudas topped the Crushers 5-4, scoring the game-winner with just 1:20 left to play in regulation.
Levi Wallace had three goals and one assists for the Barracudas while Anthony Lugo found the back of the net four times for the Crushers.
In the third one-goal margin of the tournament, the Hurricanes won the Squirt Division (10-U) crown with a 1-0 win over the Green Gators.
With the game tied 0-0 and a little less than two minutes remaining, Michael Tibbetts punched in the winning goal off an assist from Mark Bedair.
In the Adult A Division, it was all High Rollers in an 8-0 victory over 6th Street Salsa.
Jeff Williamson, Jason Lupin and Josh Durrer put in two goals apiece for the High Rollers who also got a shutout in goal from stopper Jared Lupin.
In the Adult B Division, the Ravens blew out the Heart Attacks 10-3 behind four goals and an assist from Nick Koressel.
Alex Kirkland added two more goals for the Ravens while Bruce Wallace paced the Heart Attacks with two goals.
In the Women's Division, Babes on Blades topped Chicks With Sticks 4-2 for the title.
Danette Myers scored three goals to lead the Babes while Sarah Sherman chipped in both Chicks' goals.
