Valborg Frederiksen

Valborg Frederiksen, 79, of Prescott, died Sunday, April 30, 3000, in Prescott.

She was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Valdemar and Ingeborg Anderson.

Mrs. Frederiksen married George Aage Frederiksen on June 14, 1942, in Denmark. They moved to Elmhurst, Ill., in 1954, to Arizona in 1970, and to Prescott in 1986.

She was a homemaker who sometimes worked outside the home to help put the children through school. Her family knew her as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, George; daughters, Britta Coons of Oatman and Christian Frederiksen of Prescott; son, Paul of Parker, Colo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at American Lutheran Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Lutheran Church General Fund, 1030 Scott Drive, Prescott, AZ 86301.

James Robert "Bob" Miller

James Robert "Bob" Miller, 78, of Prescott, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Prescott.

He was born May 25, 1921, in Sunrise, Wyo., to James Shafter and Frances (Morgan) Miller.

Mr. Miller was raised in Miami, where he married Dorothy C. Creasman. He was on duty and aboard the USS Argonne in Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack in 1941. After Pearl Harbor, he served six years of sea duty, primarily aboard destroyers. He saw action at Guadalcanal, the Aleutian Islands, Leyte Gulf, the Philippines, North Africa and New Zealand.

He moved to Prescott in 1954, where he worked as foreman at the Royal Plastic Plant until it relocated to Chicago. He remained in Prescott, and worked as a cabinet maker and carpenter until he retired.

Mr. Miller enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing and traveling.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy; daughter, Marsha Dobbertin of Scottsdale; son, Russell Miller of Chino Valley; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Prescott, Goodwin and Marina streets.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice, 3262 N. Windsong Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ 86312, or Vera Cruz Medical Mission, 723 N. 22nd Place, Mesa, AZ 85203.

Eldridge Tearl Garretson

Eldridge Tearl Garretson, 74, of Prescott Valley, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in Prescott Valley.

He was born June 27, 1925, in Cedar Grove, W.Va., to Clarence E. and Gladys Irene (Wright) Garretson.

Mr. Garretson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Gloria Humphrey on Sept. 25, 1947, in Bluefield, W.Va. He was a civilian aircraft mechanic at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colo., for 20 years, retiring in 1981.

He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. His family knew him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors include his wife Gloria; son, Tearl of Arvada, Colo.; daughter, Cheryl Cummins of Laguna Hills, Calif.; sisters, Leona Collins and Janet Rudd, both of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Cunningham officiating.

Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Gardens, Dewey.
