Eileen Gillespie

Eileen Gillespie, 74, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at her home in Prescott.

She was born May 18, 1926, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Loren and Irene (Haggard) Yates.

Mrs. Gillespie attended Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School and taught culinary classes at Palomar College. She volunteered for Red Cross during World War II, Meals for the Homeless and convent meals in California and Meals on Wheels in Prescott.

She was a volunteer with her Catholic parish whereever she lived, including Sacred Heart's Altar Society's Funeral Ministry in Prescott. Mrs. Gillespie enjoyed gardening, crafting and reading. Her family knew her for her devotion to them, and her enjoyment of the annual Fourth of July family reunions.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis McClintock of Murrieta, Calif., and Steven McClintock of LaVerne, Calif.; daughters, Dr. Alison McClintock of Vista, Calif., and Mary Gillespie of Prescott; sisters, Pat McCauley and Sharon Allen, both of Green Valley; and nine grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1996.

A rosary will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez at Carleton, Prescott. Visitation will be one hour before and one hour after the rosary.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott, with the Rev. Joseph Gamm, C.M.F., officiating. Final committal and commendation will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Prescott.

Arlene E. Thomas

Arlene E. Thomas, 70, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at her home in Prescott Valley.

She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Wabash, Ind., to Arlie and Amy Lulu (Moser) Caskey.

Mrs. Thomas graduated from Jefferson Township High School in Miami County, Ind. She married Everett L. Thomas in April 1952, in Wabash. She moved to Prescott Valley in 1985.

She worked as secretary at Samaritan Towers in Prescott until her retirement. She and her husband, Pastor Thomas, founded H.I.S. Mission Food Bank in Prescott Valley in 1994. They were involved with feeding and clothing needed Prescott Valley families for more than 15 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Lois Mauger of Prescott Valley; stepdaughter, Rosemary Alexander of Columbia City, Ind.; sons, James of Longmont, Colo., Tim of Byron, Ill., Matthew of Huntington, Ind., Mark of Markle, Ind., and Paul of Prescott Valley; brother, Kenneth Caskey of Black Canyon City; 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1999.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Valley Christian Center, 2901 Mountain View, Prescott Valley. Mrs. Thomas requested that her body be donated to medical science.

Rose MacGregor

Rose MacGregor, 77, of Prescott Valley, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Las Fuentes Care Center, Prescott.

She was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Manistique, Mich., to Frank and Amelia (Spelich) Rubick.

Mrs. MacGregor married her husband James on Jan. 17, 1943. She moved to Prescott Valley from Michigan in 1979. She was a member of St. Germaine's Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband, James; daughters, Kathleen Thompson of Tucson and Anita Zellar of Prescott Valley; sons, Justin and Kyle, both of Prescott Valley; brother, Lawrence Rubick of Newberry, Mich.; sisters, Ann Strukel of Duluth, Minn., and Geraldine Beaudre and Kathleen Nelson, both of Manistique, Mich.; and one grandchild.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Germaine's Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Dr., Prescott Valley, with the Rev. John Shetler presiding. Private family entombment will follow at Redwood Memorial Gardens, Dewey.
