Geraldine Dant

Geraldine Dant, 84, of Prescott, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, in Prescott.

She was born Dec. 24, 1915, in Marshall, Mo., to Harry and Clara (Tharp) Thomas.

Mrs. Dant was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association. She married John S. Dant Jr. on Dec. 12, 1936, in Moberly, Mo.

Surviving are her husband; sons, Michael of Santa Fe, N.M. and John of Scottsdale; and two grandchildren.

The family planned a private service.

John Charles Eade

John Charles Eade, 78, of Prescott Valley, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Prescott Valley.

He was born May 12, 1922, in Sterling, Ill.

Mr. Eade worked for Illinois Bell for 43 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Masonic Lodge, all in Illinois.

He married Donna Moreland on Oct. 10, 1980, in Sterling, Ill. The couple moved to Arizona in 1993 from Illinois, and enjoy traveling throughout the United States in their R.V.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Brian of Sterling, Ill., and Eric of Holman, Wis.; stepson, Marty Nelson of Prescott Valley; stepdaughters, Christine Wells of Sterling, Ill., and Lou Ann Hendershot of Oshkosh, Wis.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There were private family services.

Sunrise Funeral Home helped the family with arrangements.

Edward Frank Kachnic Sr.

Edward Frank Kachnic Sr., 66, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at his home in Prescott.

A life-long resident of Prescott, Mr. Kachnic was born here on June 15, 1934, to Joseph and Sophie (Wierwara) Kachnic.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Gentry of Tucson, Carolyne Ramos of Fredonia, and Barbara and Linda Kachnic, both of Brigantine, N.J.; sons, Edward of Douglasville, Ga., John of Littleton, Colo., Joseph of Longmont, Colo., Kenneth of Absecon, N.J., and Michael of Clementon, N.J.; brother, Joseph of Indiatlantic City, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel. A Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Gann, C.M.F., officiating.

Interment will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Prescott.
