CITY LEAGUE SOFTBALL LATE REGISTRATION … There is still time to register your team for City of Prescott City League Softball season. Late registration takes place this week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the recreation programming office in the Prescott Activity Center, 824 E. Gurley. Absolute deadline is 5 p.m. Friday. CINCO DE MAYO COURTHOUSE FIESTA … The City of Prescott Parks and Recreation Department presents its Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the Courthouse Plaza on Saturday, May 6. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. and include a salsa contest, kids' crafts and activities, community booths, food booths and entertainment by Rojas Family Mariachi Band, Prescott Valley Folkloric Dance Company, Gene Ulibarri Band and Corozon de Peoria Ballet Folklorico. A street dance featuring Grupo Caliente begins at 7 p.m. Come join us for a day of fun!
SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP FOR KIDS WITH DISABILITIES … Prescott Parks, Recreation and Library Department invites children with special needs ages 6 to 21 to join the Summer Adventure Camp. There will be swimming, roller skating, arts and crafts, field trips, bowling, music and games. The camp will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, June 12 through Aug. 10. Registration fee is $10, plus $3 per child per day. Register at the Prescott Activity Center, 824 E. Gurley, or call Becky at 445-5291 for additional information.
APPLICATIONS NOW ACCEPTED FOR SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP … Prescott Parks and Recreation is currently hiring recreation leaders to help run our Summer Adventure camp for children with disabilities. The camp, which is designed for children ages 6 to 12 and 13 to 18, will have approximately 15 children in each group. The camp will take place from 1 to 5 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, June 12 through Aug. 10. Camp activities include swimming, bowling, roller-skating, field trips, crafts and outdoor activities. Duties and responsibilities include supervision of volunteers and part-time staff, planning and implementing games, crafts, field trips, outings and other activities. Experience working with children with disabilities is desired. Must possess a valid Arizona drivers license. Salary is $7.50 to $11 per hour, depending on experience.
