CREATE YOUR OWN HEIRLOOM QUALITY COWBOY HAT under the direction of master hatmaker, Tom Hirt of Colorado. Tom has been the hatmaker for movies and celebrities for over 25 years, and has made the hats for many well-known films

CREATE YOUR OWN HEIRLOOM QUALITY COWBOY HAT under the direction of master hatmaker, Tom Hirt of Colorado. Tom has been the hatmaker for movies and celebrities for over 25 years, and has made the hats for many well-known films such as the Conagher series and Tombstone, including Val Kilmer’s iconic “Doc Holliday” hat. In just three days you will design, block, shape and finish a hat exactly as you want it. You will also learn the techniques for fitting the sweatband, making and attaching the hat band, and even putting a binding on the brim. The class will be held at the Phippen Museum of Western Art May 7, 8, and 9. The class fee of $640 includes all materials, use of equipment, and instruction.
