Arizona Originals: Native Plants of Arizona

The Natural History Institute hosts an exhibition opening created by 15 members of the Southwest Society of Botanical Artists, featuring original paintings of plants found from the Grand Canyon to the Sonoran Desert.

The Natural History Institute hosts an exhibition opening created by 15 members of the Southwest Society of Botanical Artists, featuring original paintings of plants found from the Grand Canyon to the Sonoran Desert. The opening reception for Arizona Originals: Native Plants of Arizona, will take place on Friday, January 24th, from 5-7:30PM. This free kickoff event is open to the public and is part of Prescott's 4th Friday Art Walk. The range of styles includes scientific illustration as well as realistic drawing and painting of botanical subjects. The majority of these SWSBA artists hold a Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration; some also have fine arts and graphic design degrees.
