Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation (a nonprofit helping local foster children) will hold its annual Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run on October 27 at Courthouse Plaza in Prescott, AZ from 9 a.m-noon. This year’s event is sponsored by Augie’s. The 5k proves to be a one of a kind experience; feeling like a Halloween party with music, games, and prizes yet raising money for and awareness of the foster children in Yavapai County. Parents, children, and 5K fanatics, alike, arrive at the Costumes for Kids 5K Fun Run an hour early to register or sign in. Every runner gets a branded t-shirt and, later, pizza. The 5K starts at 10 a.m., can be walked, and is untimed. The 5K Fun Run is free to all foster families and children 16 years of age or younger. Individual registration is $25 and teams (of 8) register for $135.
