Cathedral and Indian Caves are located down a rough road about 45 minutes south of Ash Fork and are privately owned by a nonprofit organization, The Underground Conservancy. These caves consist of over 1,000 feet of underground passages all formed in the Redwall Limestone layer. The caves have significant speleological resources, as well and rich archaeological, paleontological and historical points of interest. The talk will be given by Tom Gilleland from MineGates Environmental and owner of Cathedral Cave and will be followed with a field trip on a later date to this interesting site.Geology Talks is hosted by the Central Arizona Geology Club and presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library. This event includes an opportunity to ““show and tell”“ and ask questions of Geology Club members.
