Dinner, child care and a lecture on Islam are offered Thursday, December 7 at Granite Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are required for dinner and child care – call 928-541-0000 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. by Wednesday, December 7. The session on Islam begins at 6:30 p.m. and there is no charge to attend. The focus of this lesson about Islam is on contemporary Issues (veiling, jihad, sharia, etc.) Dr. Clark is a Religious Studies scholar specializing in the study of Afro-Caribbean religions primarily Santeria/Lukumi. As a faculty member at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, she teaches Comparative Religion both face-to-face and online. Mary Ann's newest passion is speculative fiction, including "The Baron’s Box: Stories from the Bardo," the account of one woman’s journey through a surprising afterlife.
