Halloween on Mount Vernon Avenue is a half-century-plus tradition for longtime residents Sue Beyea, left, and Ralph Rodarte. The neighbors, who live several houses away from one another, both say they have spent every Halloween since the 1960s handing out candy on the historic street. Here, they stand in front of Rodarte’s house, alongside the yard-art giraffe that the neighbors replaced after it was stolen several years ago. (Cindy Barks/Courier)
